The Art of the Disney Park
Taking a stroll down Main Street USA it is hard to believe that you are not really in a turn of the century town.
The eloquent Victorian architecture, the horse drawn trolleys and the authentic steam train all add to that feeling. Quite frankly, it’s typical of a Disney theme park, and it’s a key difference between a Disney theme park and any other theme park. Click here to read more.
Tencennial Parade
Walt Disney World celebrated its tenth anniversary with a yearlong celebration that began in October 1981. As part of that celebration, the Magic Kingdom had a special parade. Click here to see pictures.
Remember the Magic
The Remember the Magic afternoon parade in the Magic Kingdom appeared for the park's 25th anniversary. However, after the celebration ended, the parade stuck around for another five years. Click here to see pictures.
Walt Disney World Railroad
Some say it was started by a mouse, but in reality, the Walt Disney theme park legacy was started by the love of trains.
Even Disney's most famous and longest lasting legacy, Mickey Mouse, was created on a train. Walt Disney's first step into the world of trains came when he completed The Carolwood Pacific Railroad in July 1950. Click here to read more.
Main Street U.S.A.
After the curtain rises on the Magic Kingdon, visitors take a step back in time to an era when horseless carriages and horse-drawn trolleys co-existed and when the steam train was still the center of town. Click here to read more.
Space Mountain
Located outside the perimeter of the Walt Disney World Railroad, Space Mountain has been whisking space travelers across the galaxy since it first appeared in Walt Disney World in 1975.
Since Space Mountain, once Florida's third tallest mountain, opened in Walt Disney World, versions have been built in the other Disney theme parks, including Disneyland in 1977. Click here to read more.
